Meet the team
We’re committed to training and developing our staff, preparing them for their next step in whichever direction that might be. Here’s the proof.
Kathryn joined the Colosseum team as a Casual Ticketing Assistant in January 2013 before being promoted to Senior Ticketing Assistant in May of the same year. In December 2015, Kathryn switched departments to undertake the role of Marketing Assistant and she has recently progressed to Venue Marketing Officer, where she currently works in our busy marketing office.
Kath says: “There’s never a dull day here… One minute we’re promoting Peppa Pig, the next we are preparing for a huge sell-out Paul Weller concert! As a team, who genuinely love the arts, we work together to bring entertainment to Watford, from putting an event on sale, to bringing down the house lights and starting the show months later… as cliché as it sounds, the people here are like a second family and they make the everyday feel a lot less like work!”
Mike joined the Colosseum team as Technical and Buildings Manager in April 2013 with over 8 years of experience in the industry. Mike started his career as a Stage Technician at Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage before progressing to Aylesbury Waterside Theatre as Lighting Technician and then making his West End debut at the Duke of York Theatre as Chief Electrician.
Following on from this, Mike took the opportunity to join the HQT&H Senior Management team at Watford Colosseum which included improving the technical offering at the venue along with improving the facilities and management systems. After 3.5 years loyal service, Mike became the Building Operations and Technical Manager here where he works hard to keep the Watford Colosseum compliant in all its statutory certifications, health and safety responsibilities along with heading up various departments across the Venue. Within Mike’s new role he works to ensure the venue consistently operates at full strength and ensure that we are always providing five star customer service to all our customers.
Mike says: “I am very proud to be a part of such an outstanding live entertainment venue with the best team in the industry. Every day is different and every day comes with new challenges. It’s such a bright, vibrant, happy place to work and I consider myself very lucky to be part of the Colosseum team!”
